Course Outline

JM Concealed Carry will teach from the NC Justice Academy Model Course (Handgun Safety). Our class will have eight hours of classroom instruction to include a written test, as well as range time. Our outline is as follows:

a. LEGAL ISSUES (NC LAWS GOVERNING CONCEALED CARRY AND THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE) 2hrs

b. HANDGUN SAFETY

c. HANDGUNS

d. MARKSMANSHIP FUNDAMENTALS

e. CARRYING CONCEALED SAFETY ISSUES

f. PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES

g. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

h. AMMUNITION

i. PROFICIENCY DRILLS (MUST SHOOT 50 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION)

ALL CLASSES WILL CONSIST OF EIGHT HOURS OF CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION, A WRITTEN TEST (STUDENT MUST MAKE 70% OR BETTER TO PASS), AND RANGE TIME (STUDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOOT 50 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION AND MUST HIT 38 OF 50 IN ORDER TO QUALIFY).

Keep in mind that all of our classes involve training outside, and we shoot rain or shine unless conditions become dangerous. That being said, priority number one is that you dress for the weather. Wear clothing that is comfortable and allows as full a range of motion as possible.
